This is the eleventh year in which CEC and SMART Learning Systems have collaborated to offer the Illinois SMART School Academy.  The purpose of the Academy is to train and certify district teams in the application of the SMART School Improvement Process.

This year, the Academy training will be delivered using Zoom meeting technology and remote coaching. For details, please download the Overview and other documents that appear below.

Training schedule:

The 4 modules of Session I will be held from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. on October 6 and 7, October 13 and October 20. After Session I, Academy participants will be surveyed regarding the schedule, with adjustments made accordingly for Sessions II, III and IV.

Coaching:

Participating teams are coached by a certified SMART Master Coach between the training sessions and following the final training session.

Benefits:

Each Academy participant receives 2 books, PowerPoints, participant manual, coaching style inventory, My SMART Journal, access to an online collaborative space and continuing membership in the growing SMART Network.

Cost:

The cost of the year-long Academy is $2890 per participant. The Academy is limited in size to accommodate a deep, personalized learning experience. Your Academy team must include 2 or more representatives to build internal district capacity.
